Equality and Diversity
The Society is committed to encouraging and improving equality and diversity among our membership and eliminating unlawful discrimination from all of the Society’s activities. A copy of the Society’s Equality and Diversity Policy can be found here.
Advertising

Complaints
Should any member, employee or consultant of the Society or any speaker, guest or third party attending and/or working at a Society event wish to make a complaint about their own or another person’ treatment, they may do so under the Society’s Complaint’ Procedure, a copy of which can be found here.
Privacy
The Society is committed to protecting any personal data that it collects and processes.
In using this website and providing personal data, you agree to Society processing your personal data in accordance with its privacy policy, a copy of which can be found here.
We have implemented security policies and technical measures to protect your personally identifiable data from unauthorised access, improper use or disclosure and unauthorised modification.
The individuals authorised by the Society to access your data are obliged to respect confidentiality. If you want your personal data to be deleted from the system, please contact the Secretary.
Use of cookies
When we provide services, we want to make them easy, useful and reliable. Where services are delivered on the internet, this sometimes involves placing small amounts of information on your device, for example, your computer or mobile phone. These include small files known as cookies. They cannot be used to identify you personally. These pieces of information are used to improve services for you.
Cookies are currently not used on this site.
Payments and refunds policy
Payments
Your order will not be confirmed (event places not secured, membership not confirmed, etc) until we have received your payment.
Refunds
The Society appreciates that at times it is necessary to cancel bookings to events and to request refunds. However, the SCL will have incurred a cost as a direct result of a booking being made.
- If you cancel 6 months or over, we will deduct 10% of the full price before issuing a refund.
- If you cancel between 3 months and 6 months, we will deduct 25% of the full price before issuing a refund.
- If you cancel between 1 month and 3 months, we will deduct 50% of the full price before issuing a refund.
- If you cancel between 10 days and 1 month, we will deduct 80% of the full price before issuing a refund.
- If you cancel within 10 days of the event no refund will be issued.
- However, if it is possible to sell the place/s then the Society will make a full refund less an administrative fee of €20 per place.
