Delay and Disruption Protocol

This Protocol has been prepared by the Society of Construction Law UK for determining extensions of time and compensation for delay and disruption. It exists to provide guidance to all parties to the construction process when dealing with delay and disruption matters. It recognises that transparency of information and methodology is central to both dispute prevention and dispute resolution. In February 2017, the 2nd edition of the Protocol was published. This supersedes both the 1st edition of the Protocol and Rider 1 to the 1st edition of the Protocol.

In 2025, SCL Serbia produced the first Serbian translation of the Delay and Disruption Protocol.

The translation was undertaken by a committee working to establish consistent Serbian terminology for concepts that had until then been used in the Serbian construction industry largely in English, or rendered inconsistently across projects and disputes. It is bilingual, with the English and Serbian texts presented side by side, so that the terminology can be traced. Contributors are credited in the published edition.

It was published on 5 November 2025 at the Society’s launch event in Belgrade.
